  • Current Age: 4 Years 9 Months (best estimate)
  • Microchipped: Yes
  • Housetrained: Yes
Update April 23rd; Sally was seen by her primary Veterinarian to recheck the ulcer on her eye as well as her ear infection.  She is to continue with the meds for her eye and ear and continue to wear her cone.  She is to be rechecked again on Tuesday, April 27th and has been scheduled to be spayed on May 19th.
Update April 16th;
Sally's puppies have now been weened and received their first shots on Friday. Sally was also immunized as she could not be while she was pregnant. She has a small ulcer on one of her eyes and is on drops to remedy it. If it does not improve she will need to see an Ophthalmologist. She will be wearing a cone until she is seen again by her Veterinarian on the 23rd. She should be spayed within about a month and then be available for adoption.

Update 3/6;  When the Veterinarian went to spay Sally, she found that she was pregnant. She had an Ultrasound and X-rays. The doctors estimated she was due on or around February 24th and her c-section was scheduled for that date. She went into labor on the 22nd and the first was still born, she had the next four by c-section. One did not survive and the next three did well. She is nursing the three puppies well and the first two thresholds of 24 hours and ten days have now passed. The puppies will be placed up for adoption at about two months and Sally will be spayed once the puppies have been weened and she has some time to recover. Once she has been spayed she will be placed up for adoption. The adoption donation for the puppies will be a minimum of $600 (additional donations are greatly appreciated) and there will be a $400 spay/neuter deposit required that will be returned or can be donated once a certificate showing the spay/neuter has been done by a Veterinarian no later than the puppy's 6 month birthday. As part of the Adoption Contract the spay/neuter will be required and the Pug cannot be used for breeding prior to being spayed or neutered. Low cost and reduced cost clinics such as the Humane Society will not be acceptable. Applications for adoption can be found at michiganpugrescue.com under the Adopt/Foster tab. Read all information about the process before applying to adopt.
Calls or e-mails asking about the Pugs availability, adoption process or application status will not be returned. information about each Pug is posted of their individual page. The application must have every question answered.  All applications received are replied to in writing generally within 3 days and sent by USPS

Sally was rescued along with her 2 sisters and a brother from a woman who had fallen on hard times.  She is 1.5 years old and had never been seen by a Veterinarian therefore needs a complete physical exam, her Rabies, DHPP, Lepto, Bordetella and Flu vaccines, heart worm testing and preventative, complete blood work, dental cleaning and extractions and to be spayed.  She has bilateral ear infections that are being treated with meds and an antibiotic.  She is housebroken, good with children, other dogs, and is in the process of being crate trained.  Once all of her medical is completed she will be available for adoption.  She loves to cuddle and give lots of kisses.
We are accepting applications by USPS only to be evaluated for Sally or any other Pug that enters the program in the future. . We do not accept e-mailed or faxed applications. Go to michiganpugrescue.com, click on the Adopt/Foster tab on the left of the home page, read all the information and download, print, complete and mail in the application.  All information about Sally is posted and is updated when information is available. If you are considering sending your application by Priority or Express mail, please consider sending it regular mail and making a donation for the difference in what you would have spent. This will be used to assist with the medical bills of the Pugs.
