Gracie was picked up by animal control and taken to a local shelter.  The shelter contacted Michigan Pug Rescue, 'Pug Luv' to determine if she could be accepted into the rescue and nursed back to health.  Her physical exam disclosed she suffers from a severe case of Demodex Mange.  She has an ulcer on one of her eyes with some scaring  limited vision in that eye. She has a slight luxating patella which does not require any treatment.  She was treated for dehydration.  Blood tests determined no other issues at this time.  She has had medication baths, placed on IV therapy and lotion applied to begin the treatment of the mange.  She had some of her initial vaccines on 3/18 and went to her foster home on 3/19 where her treatment with bathes and lotions will be continued.  She is very loving and loves to give kisses.  Gracie was seen by the vet on 4/2 and 4/23, is doing very well.    She is expected to be seen again late in May when her vaccines can be completed and she will be spayed.
