Macy is one of the 15 Pugs Pug Luv rescued from a puppy mill. She is 6 years old and one of the few that seem to be adjusting quickly to people. She has been microchipped and has now been spayed, vaccinated for Rabies, DHLLP, Bordetella, heart worm, fecal and blood tested. Macy suffers from Bumble foot as a result of living in an unsanitary cage where she would step in feces resulting in the pads of her feet being swollen, inflamed and infected. She is on antibiotics as well as pain medication for the condition. Her feet will never return to normal however the problem will hopefully be curtailed. As is the case with dogs that come from a puppy mill she is not yet housebroken, it is a work in progress. Her socialization is coming along well. Patience will be the utmost to acclimate them to human interaction so they can learn what it is to be cared about, loved and in a situation where they are not just used to produce puppies. It is estimated that she may have had as many as 10 litters. Once her socialization is to a point that we feel she is accepting her new way of life, she will be available for adoption. She will require Tacrolimus eye drops for the remainder of her life.
