Ziggy
Ziggy (aka: Mr. Small) came into the world on March 24, 2001. Ziggy lived in New York, Florida and finally retired to Michigan in 2006. Ziggy was charmer and made anyone who came in contact with him smile. He was always underfoot. A true companion when reading or grading exams. Ziggy loved all animals- especially his cat friends: Jeepers, Oliver & Murphy. He would always share his bed with any cat looking for cuddles. Ziggy loved walks, the park and his peanut butter Kong. We will miss our "little Champion." The house is sure quiet without his sniffles, snores and grunts. Christi and Rich Henke
Nellie
Hi, My name is Marcey Robinet and my husband Ed & I adopted Nellie in July of 2004. I wanted to let you know that Nellie passed away this last Thursday. She was 14 1/2 yrs old and had a long full life. She enjoyed great health until the end and was a great joy in our life and a great buddy to her sister dog Maddy. She will be greatly missed but we just wanted to thank you again for helping us make Nellie a part of our lives she loved it here on the farm & we loved her.

Jaxson
Sadly Jaxson lost his battle with Kennel Cough and Pneumonia during the night. It really angers us that a shelter would have allowed his condition to become what it was before turning him over to the rescue. He had been at the shelter since February 1st and we picked him up on the 14th. The only consolation is he will be in a better place and no longer be neglected as he was.
Daisy
We adopted Daisy August 5, 2007. She was 7 years old at the time and what a beauty! Love at first sight really does happen. It sure happened for Daisy and my husband and I! We fell in love with each other and into our lives she came. The next few months brought many changes in Daisy's life - my father was diagnosed with cancer and was at our home for 2 weeks. Daisy put on her nursing cap and was a great source of joy to my father and a great comfort to me. After Dad passed, Miss Daisy put on her grief counselor hat and carried me on her little shoulders through many a sad day and night. Daisy and I always walked together - she was known in our neighborhood as the "Power Walking Pug"! She could really cruise! Daisy also loved to sit in the sun. We have many pictures of her on her "lounge chair" on our patio soaking up the sun! After Dad passed away, she insisted that we continue our walks every day and through those walks she helped me move on and remember Dad with a smile instead of tears. In December 2011, my father-in-law was diagnosed with cancer and came to our house to stay while in hospice. Once again, Miss Daisy donned her nursing cap and kept close watch next to his bed. He had many a conversation with her during the two weeks he was at our house and she listened intently to every word. Shortly after my father-in-law passed away, we noticed a few changes in Daisy. We took her to our vet who gave us the grim diagnosis - cancer. She had seen both of her grandpas through this dreaded disease and now we were needed to help her through it. The cancer spread rapidly and on January 25, 2012, we helped her cross the Rainbow Bridge. Our hearts are so broken. Although her physical presence may be gone, her soul - oh her sweet, gentle and beautiful soul - will be ever present. We know that our little girl is power walking again with both of her grandpas and enjoying the Heavenly sunshine! How we will always treasure our Daisy! God bless you, our beautiful girl. Wilbur
Wilbur came into our lives when he was 11 months old and his owner could no longer take care of him. He was a wonderful pug. Many strangers commented on how beautiful he was but he was also gentle, playful and full of energy. We noticed early on that he needed to drink huge amounts of water every day so we had him examined by the vet. They soon determined Wilbur had a congenital problem with his liver and surgery was recommended. Although we were told he was a good candidate for surgery, Wilbur never recovered. He was 15 months old when he died. Although he was only in our lives for 4 months, he was the most beautiful and charming dog an owner could ever ask for. We loved him and tried our best to save him but it wasn't meant to be. We have let him into our hearts and there he will remain with us forever.
